The Queen Is Back

Atlanta’s very own, Bktherula, is back in the spotlight with the release of her brand new album “LOVE BLACK.” If you’re in tune with the scene of underground music, then you probably know her, but to all the people that aren’t so in tune, let me put you on.

Love Black = Limitless

Bktherula has been known for being an artist that thinks outside of the box, and throughout the Love Black album this narrative is still apparent. The way she approaches every song is different, not only to the rest, but many times to herself. She’s sonically shapeless, there’s no box to her sound, and this is what gives it it’s own world of uniqueness. The project flows from energetic trap bangers such as “Santanny” or “Placement (feat. Matt Ox),” to more introspective ethereal songs like the opening track “Lets Get It” or the closing one “Idk What To Tell You.”

All the instrumentals have something in common, that no matter what the lyrical content is about, they all have the “take you on a trip to another dimension” feeling. With every new drop from Bk, it’s more and more evident that she is the type to build a cult fanbase. But then again she always has that surprise factor, that we don’t really know what she will do in the future. The sky isn’t even the limit for her.
