Top 5 Underground Songs You Should Hear

Have you ever heard a song for the first time and thought to yourself “This is so good it’s most definetly part of the mainstream?” Later to find out it’s isn't, and it just happened to be another underrated underground artist. Well let me tell you something, i’ve been there as well, and I know how it feels. It’s a mixture of disappointment with the fact that he or she aren’t getting what they deserve, but at the same time it’s a feeling of thrill, because you found something so good that only you and a few more might know exists. This happens when an artist really knows what they’re doing, and they’re an expert at their craft, not letting the lack of success overshadow the quality of their art. Some might have more resources than the next, but they all have something in common; I could play their music anywhere and nine times out of ten if I tell people it’s a famous artist, they would believe it. That right there is the power of having talent and a good ear for music. This list is intended to put you on to something new, and as always, here at Toxic we consider it that our job.

1) “469” by Minamisrage

From the extra catchy melodies, to the singing, to the instrumental, this song is criminally underrated. It has all the traits of a hit song, it’s just perfect. The topic of love can get tiring, but when it’s executed this nicely, it never gets old. What catches my attention with this one is that it isn’t even a little big in the underground like some others that'll be on the list. This one is going deeper into the unknown music world.

2) “Girl of My Dreams” by Kwe the Artist

Executively produced by Patrick Cc:, and featured on his YouTube series “Locked in With.” It’s a psychedelic trip with a cinematic feel, full of light and energy, touching topics such as partying, love and desire. It has a touch of darkness to it as well. This is due to Kwe’s vocal performance, complimenting the instrumental.

3) “I Can’t Feel My Face” by TyFontaine

Part of his album “Ascension.” Definitely a mosh pit banger. The song is simple, but it’s just what’s needed for the occasion, and it couldn’t be better. The melody is perfect and the repetition of the hook is addicting. The way the adlibs are done gives the song a bunch of character. The name of the album is perfect, because you feel that as you listen to it, especially this one.

4) “Pink Roses” by SportVVS

This song is an amazing vibe. The guitar in the instrumental makes it feel like a movie type of song, or like one of those old aesthetic perfume commercials. SportsVVS"‘s voice is raspy, a perfect fit for the beat and the types of things he is talking about. This song features a music video on the Toxic channel.

5) “PartOfMe” by Lil Rocket 6900

The most underrated one on this list. It’s a slow smooth sound that just hits home every time. Rocket boards on the topic of love and self reflection. His flow doesn’t just follow the pattern of the instrumental, it creates it’s own rhythm apart from it, but blending in with it sounding natural. Another thing is the off beat rapping, it’s one of those cases where it’s the style that goes with it, making it even more laid back and better indeed. This song also features a video on the Toxic channel.
