Yvngxchris On His Way To Stardom
Yvngxchris is only sixteen years old and already taking over the game one song at a time. Gaining huge traction with tracks like ‘Kyrie Irving!,’ ‘bitch Im joe biden,’ ‘April fools,’ and ‘Dip Remix.’ Hailing from Virginia, he’s been making bangers going viral on TikTok. His music is made to make you turn up, het hype, and feel good. With bouncy beats and a fun strong delivery in his rapping voice.

He started doing comedy on TikTok which gained him about 2k followers off it alone. Later he would finally centre his content around his music, quickly it started to go viral, first with the song ‘Kyrie Irving.’ Yvngxchris is currently signed to Columbia Records, only two years into recording professionally. Some of his biggest inspirations are, Comethazine, Ski Mask The Slump God, and Lil Uzi Vert.
Blood On The Leaves
This song is his most recent one to be going viral all over the place. It sampled Nina Simone ‘Strange Fruit’ from her album ‘Pastel Blues’ (1965). This is the same sample famously known from the song ‘Blood On The Leaves’ by Kanye on his album ‘Yeezus.’ We could say that in this case there is a sample to a sample, because thats from where yvngxchris probably knows it, considering age and the popularity of that Kanye album. There’s been controversy surrounding it though, some people have the opinion that considering the story behind the sample, it is wrong for him to use it in such way with the lyrics he says. But this is just another case where as the time goes by, things change and adapt. Yvngxchris is just using the sample in a modernizing way to suit his sound and the state of the underground in 2021. Besides, this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this. When asked in an interview about his joe biden song, he said “The sample in the song came from Lil B’s ‘Bitch i’m Bill Clinton.’ I just decided to modernize it…”
Only The Beginning
Columbia records has had a great run over the last couple of years. Working with artists helping them go big, such as with 24KGoldn, Lil Nas X, Cochise, etc. Their track record with viral artists lately has been remarkable. Now, It looks like Yvngxchris will be next one to go under the labels guidance into becoming mainstream. He already has sounds on TikTok that have been used hundreds of thousands of times. His Soundcloud is already at 100k followers, Spotify close to a million monthly listeners, and his YouTube page has millions of views. From the looks of it, this kid is on his way to stardom, sooner than later.
